6. treasuring love even more.

February 15th, 2008 by vion

A woman who lost her husband of 40 years to a sudden heart attack said that the resulting grief had caused her to value love more. When she heard couples arguing, she sometimes spoke to them, saying, “You don’t have time for this.” She noted that the wasted moments in all our lives become more precious when they cannot be repeated. Grief changes our perspective on life. It is trite but true that how we deal with sorrow will make us either bitter or better. In a remarkable statement, the psalmist actually thanked God for a difficult experience: “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word. . . . It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes” (Ps. 119:67,71). We don’t know the nature of the psalmist’s affliction, but the positive outcome was a longing to obey the Lord and a hunger for His Word. Rarely can we use this truth to comfort those who hurt. Instead, it is the Lord’s word to us from His compassionate heart and the touch from His healing hand. When we grieve, it feels more like dying than growing. But as God wraps His loving arms around us, we have the assurance of His faithful care. —David C. McCasland

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I
will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My
righteous right hand" (Isa. 41:10)

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me.  — Psalm 23:4

5. karna Dia hidup

October 1st, 2007 by vion

akhirnya, karna Dia hidup, kutahu ku tak sendiri.

the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. enjoy life, this is not a rehearsal.

think highly of yourself because the world takes you at your own estimate.

don’t fear pressure, for pressure is what turns rough stones into diamonds.

live each day in the present and make it beautiful.

believe that your life is worth living and your beliefs will help create the fact.

wherever you go, take your whole heart along. if you love life, life will love you back.

heal the past, live the present, dream the future.

don’t count the days, make the days count.

the key to happiness is having dreams. the key to success is making dreams come true.

the world is like a mirror. if you face it smiling, it smiles right back.

happiness is not having you want. it’s wanting what you have.

learn to listen. opportunity sometimes knocks very softly.

life would be infinitely happier if we could only be born at the age of eighty and gradually approach eighteen.

good times become good memories. bad times, become good lessons.

it’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast.

success is to get what you want. luck is to keep what you get.

i look to the future because that’s where i’m going to spend the rest of my life.

people are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges.

goozzzhhhhh …..

you rumble my mind. you stun my heart. you drag me away from my routines. your name wander in my mind. i begin liking you more.

yet, i’m actually confused. who are you? what do you feel in your heart? who am I to you? you are so much different from me. you’re different from the ones before. so, what should i do now? i have no clue whatsoever.

this situation once again happens in my life. facing another circumstance. i don’t want to cross the line.

but, my soul screams so loud. shouting "so, come with me then. forget them. and let’s start a new journey." no. i just won’t say those words. i’m about to leave. thus … why should start something that ends really soon?

i wanna be with you.

Start where you are in serving the Lord,

Claim His sure promise and trust in His Word;

God simply asks you to do what you can,

He’ll use your efforts to further His plan. —Anon.

Don’t make a cemetery of your life by burying your talents.

beautiful day

June 7th, 2007 by vion

it was a beautiful day. the sun was shinning brightly. warming the earth early in the morning.

there was i. stunned. that girl was standing before me. a bit dark she was. short was her hair. dark was the color of her eyes. she wore a black jeans. a scarf was hanging on her shoulders. she combined it with a dark brown tank-top.

she was a teenager on her blossom day. happiness written all over her face. her smile was astonishing. couldn’t do much when meeting her. even more, her voice was beautiful. a bit jazzy it was. and so nice to hear.

we might have known each other less than four hours. but it felt like forever already. i barely knew her. but, that day, there she was. standing before me. looking into my eyes and saying goodbye.

We live not merely for ourselves but for the honor of the One who made us to worship and enjoy Him forever. Significance is not found in the number of our days, but in what our eternal God says about how we have used them.

13 Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the whole duty of man.

14 For God will bring every deed into judgment,
       including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.
